Enjoy a weekend in Mexico's largest city. Enjoy what the city has to offer including the Historic Centre, Zocalo and Chapultepec Park. Certainly a city stopover not to be missed!

Day 1: Mexico City Arrival

Arrive at Mexico City airport, where you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel of your choice. Time permitting, a first walk around will acquaint you with the area of one of the world’s largest cities.

Day 2: City tour: Breakfast

A comprehensive tour will acquaint us with the multiple aspects of this diverse town, once the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, today one of the world’s great metropolises. Depart from the hotel to the downtown area through Juárez Avenue. We drive along Alameda Park, then past the imposing structure of the white-marble Palace of Fine Arts, with its gleaming golden domes, and right across from it the fancy, Venetian-style Central Post Office.

Then, enter the Historical Centre proper, over narrow Madero Street, flanked by two magnificent architectural jewels from colonial days: on one side the unique, historic House of Tiles, and on the opposite side Iturbide Palace, with its beautiful baroque façade.

We finally reach the Zocalo, or Constitution Square, the giant city’s geographical, religious and political core. This great square is flanked on one side by the Old and New City Hall buildings, on the opposite side by the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral -construction began in 1573- and its high-baroque Sacristy, while the entire east flank is occupied by National Palace, the official site of the nation’s Presidency. We continue to  Chapultepec Park, for a visit to one of the world’s best and most extraordinary museums, the Museo Nacional de Antropología, with its rich collections of pre-Columbian art.

Return to your hotel to enjoy a free afternoon and evening.

Day 3: Teotihuacan Pyramid tour: Breakfast

Morning drive to the Basilica de Guadalupe, the holiest shrine for millions of Mexicans. From here, proceed to San Juan Teotihuacan, a city that flourished several centuries prior to the arrival of the Aztecs; it was probably the largest of Mexico´s ancient cities, the capital of a great and powerful empire.  Inspect the awe-inspiring pyramids of the Sun and Moon and walk down the Road of the Dead to the Citadel, wonder at the unique Temple of Quetzalcóatl, with its stone-sculptured plumed-serpent heads, and the masks of rain god Tlaloc. Return to Mexico City and overnight.

Day 4: Mexico City departure: Breakfast

At the required time we transfer you to the airport or bus stop for your departure.
