Got some spare time in Lima? Take a quick three day trip to see the world famous Nazca Lines plus the Ballestas Islands!

The Nazca Lines were created by an ancient Peruvian civilisation and are so large they can only be seen from the air. The three-day tour includes a return bus trip from Lima, a flight over the Nazca Lines, a tour of the Nazca-era Chauchilla Cemetery, and one night's accommodation in Nazca town.

Day 1: Lima - Huacachina

We depart early and head south down the Pan Americana Highway passing the little known Inca ruins of Pachacamac and into Peru’s coastal desert strip.

We arrive in the desert oasis town of Huacachina, where our hotel is located and where you can take part in sand boarding or boating on the lagoon.

Day 2: Huacachina - Paracas - Nazca

Leaving Huacachina early, we drive to the small port of Paracas where we take a boat cruise around the Ballestas Islands to see marine mammals and birdlife up close and in huge numbers. We also take a look at some ancient etchings in the coastal cliffs including the mysterious Candelabra .

Once back on shore, we make the drive to Nazca, famous for the enigmatic Nazca Lines, the best-known relic of the Nasca culture.

Once in Nazca, the afternoon can be spent in the fascinating museum, looking at mummies in Chaucilla Cemetery or just enjoying the desert climate.

Day 3: Nazca - Arequipa

This morning, we take a flight over the Nazca Lines in order to unravel the mystery for yourself. You can make out giant figures including a hummingbird, monkey and many other animals. There are also other figures etched into the desert plain, including large elongated triangular shapes. Flights last for 40 minutes and give a fantastic overview of this wonderful attraction. This is highly recommended, as it is the best way to see all the lines clearly.

In the afternoon we return to Lima by bus.

Or you may like to continue south to Arequipa and our Colca Canyon tour.

END OF OUR SERVICES

Or for those on a tight schedule, we can also offer a one or two-day tour of the Nazca Lines. Eg:

Day 1: Lima - Ica - Nazca Overflight - Lima

Early this morning, we transfer you to the bus station for your first class bus to Ica.

We arrive here mid-morning and board a light aircraft to fly over the Nazca Lines.

Upon your return to Ica, we will have lunch at the renowned Las Dunas Resort, before transferring to the bus station for your return journey to Lima.

Once in Lima, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Email info@chimuadventures.com for prices

NB: The price is high due to the overflight leaving from the town of Ica and not Nazca itself. However, this creates a longer and more informative flight.
