Your journey will start in Ushuaia where you embark your expedition ship. It then all begins with a 400 mile crossing of the Drake Passage, known for the unimpeded fetch of the winds that encircle the Antarctic. Followed by the moment that you will have been waiting for: a chance to step foot on the Great White Continent! Over the next few days you will navigate southwards making stops in the South Shetland Islands, then through the Bransfield Strait and to the Antarctic Peninsula. Besides excursions while navigating through the area, also be prepared to relax and watch the birds and whales go by and take in the breathtaking scenery!
On your return from Antarctica and arrival back in Ushuaia, you will make your way to Buenos Aires where your South America adventure will take off... You will start with a tour of Buenos Aires, serving as a great introduction to this incredible city, giving you a taste of its fascinating history, architecture, culture, inhabitants, anecdotes, and secrets. You will be transported back in time with the ‘La Ventana’ tango show where you will enjoy the dancers, orchestras and local singers while dining from the impressive menu. Moving on to Iguazú, you will visit both the Argentinean and Brazilian side of the famous Iguazú Falls. Next stop Rio de Janeiro. Here you will enjoy a panoramic journey through Rio visiting sites such as the Christ the Redeemer Statue, Copacabana and Sugar Loaf Mountain as well as spend some relaxing time on the world famous beaches if that’s what you like? You then fly to Cusco where you will visit the main sights of the city and surrounding Inca ruins and a tour of the Sacred Valley.
