Patagonia Tours

Why visit? Located at the southern end of South America, Patagonia is a region shared by Argentina and Chile. From snow-capped mountains to picturesque fjords, stunning lakes and impressive volcanoes, a Patagonia tour really has it all.

While active holidaymakers will be able to give their hiking boots a good work out trekking or horse riding through Torres Del Paine, biking through Valdez Peninsula or skiing down the slopes of Tierra del Fuego, there is also plenty to do for the more slow-paced traveller.

Staring at the magnificent views, cruising the Fjords of Chile, or visiting one of the many wineries are just some of the equally exciting but less exertive activities to be enjoyed on a tour across the dramatic, windswept settings of Patagonia.

Flights are available from most major cities, as well as fantastic connections through hubs such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, New York and Miami. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wild windy wonderful Patagonia At last the opportunity to visit those bleak, magnificent places. It's the scenery and the history for me. Great trees, lakes, glaciers, mountains, and the Magellanic woodpecker. The Andes Crossing through national parks in Chile and Argentina by boat and bus is a special experience - particularly if you stay overnight in tiny Peulla. My third trip booked through Chimu whose approach works really well for an independent minded, not young traveller who likes remote places but enjoys the confidence of pre-arranged transfers and accommodation. Most things went well, those that didn't were sorted out. I've recommended Chimu to many friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patagonia Eco camp I must say that our Chimu pickups from airports and hotels was faultless and proved most satisfactory for our entire trip taking any undue stress away regarding travelling to and from destinations. The Eco Camp was fabulous - our guide and staff at the camp were all lovely and helpful and the food was extraordinary good. We loved the wine and pre dinner drinks and our accom was comfy and warm. The trekking was wonderful and we were so lucky to have a mix of weather including strong Antarctic winds, snow, clear blue skies and calm days. The scenery was amazing and we saw flamingoes, condors and guanacos. I loved Patagonia!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patagonia in Chile and Argentina - 6 nights As I was travelling by myself, I was a little apprehensive about making all the road travel connections, just getting the info from the current hotel. However, this worked very well. All the transport was very punctual, clean and drivers were extremely courteous and helpful. There were no adverse issues. I stayed in El Calafate for Perito Moreno Glacier - magnificent, Torres del Paine National Park - an excellent accommodation centre in an area of magnificent scenery. Travelled to Punta Arenas for overnight to catch plane to Santiago. Suggested change - travel to Punta Arenas in the morning, to allow time for a look around in afternoon. We arrived late afternoon so no time to look around the town. All accommodation was good, and people were very courteous and helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia in Chile and Argentina. Organising for transfers, etc. and choice of accommodation by Chimu were perfect. Las Torres accom, meals, activities all prepaid resulted in spending money going much further for the rest of trip. Las Torres accom. excellent. Would stay there again without hesitation. Patagonia Queen was also excellent accom. in El Calafate and restaurants in main street were great. Perito Moreno Glacier spectacular, as were the 100km/h (?) winds at El Chalten!!!!! Waffleria was wonderful when trekking was hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!!!! Patagonia was incredible. Enjoyed our stay at Tierra hotel. Well worth it. We wish we had of stayed more time. Excellent guides and the good was excellent considering how remote the lodge was. The perfect place to get away from it all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well worth all the preparation and training If walking the W track go west to east, the wind is at your back, in the main your are walking with the gradient, the best of the spectacular scenery is to the east. Two walking sticks make the walk a whole lot easier.
