Day 1: San Pedro Sula - Cusuco Cloud Forest: Dinner

Reception at the airport & an immediate departure to Cusuco Cloud forest. After a 2 hour ride through a spectacular mountain dirt road we arrive at the visitors centre of the park, at an elevation of over 6000 ft. From here, we will hike some of the trails that lead into the heart of the park where you will see giant ferns and an abundance of flora. 

We will then spend the night at Calin’s house, a rustic guest house inside the park where we will enjoy a delicious meal.

Day 2: Cusuco Cloud Forest – Gracias: Breakfast and Lunch

Today we start with a fresh cup of mountain coffee and we head through the trails in search of the elusive quetzal. We head back to our guesthouse for a full breakfast & afterwards we walk a new trail to further explore the forest. Lunch is then included before we drive 3 hour to one of the best kept secrets in Honduras, the colonial city of Gracias (literally ‘thank you’). We spend the night here.

Day 3:  Celaque Cloud Forest - Gracias Natural Spa – Copan: Breakfast

Today we visit the Cloud forest of Celaque, located at the foot of the Montaña de Celaque, the highest peak in Honduras at 2,880m above sea level. This area boasts one of the largest tracts of cloud forest left in Central America and is one of Honduras's most pristine parks. Our hike will be around five hours then we return to the town of Gracias. After the hikes we will relax before hotel check-out & transfer to Copan.

On arrival in Copan you will probably just prefer to relax but if you still some energy you can visit the famous bar of El Tunkul.

Day 4: Copan: Breakfast

We will spend all morning at Copan. Our guide will give you a walking tour of the main archaeological sites, including the acropolis, the ball court, the hieroglyphic stairway and the great plaza of the stelaes. As well as of the new majestic Museum of Mayan Sculpture, acclaimed by experts as unique in the Mayan World. 

We return to the hotel around noon, when we will enjoy a horseback ride to the Hacienda San Lucas. The Hacienda San Lucas offers a magnificent opportunity to explore a typical Honduran “finca”. Nestled in the mountainsides of the Copan Valley, with magnificent views of the valley, the town of Copan and the jungle surrounding the Archaeological park. Return to Copan in the evening for overnight.

Day 5: Copan – San Pedro Sula: Breakfast

In the morning, check-out of the hotel & transfer to the airport or your hotel in San Pedro Sula.
