Rated as one of the most spectacular places in Peru, Huaraz certainly lives up to the hype: stunning mountain scenery, untouched alpine lagoons, remote villages and friendly locals, all of this in a pristine environment perfect for trekking. Huaraz is slowly being discovered by tourists: have a look before anyone else does!

Day 1: Lima - Huaraz

Upon arrival in Huaraz airport or bus station you will be transferred to your hotel.

Overnight in Huaraz.

Day 2: Chavin De Huantar Breakfast, Lunch

Today we explore the archaeological complex of Chavín, located near the Village of Chavín de Huantar. Three thousand years ago, Chavín was one of South America’s main religious centres and it is only now beginning to give up its secrets. It is renowned for its enigmatic stone carvings of human and animal shapes, and underground galleries … which have natural air-conditioning!

After lunch we make the spectacular journey back across the Sierra Blanca to Huaraz, where we spend the night.

Day 3: Llanganuco Lake – Callejon De Huaylas Breakfast, Lunch

Today we visit the stunning Callejón de Huaylas, in the Santa River Valley, located between two mountain ranges, the Sierra Blanca and Sierra Negra. It is truly a unique area with its mild climate, ancient culture and amazing natural attractions. We stop at typical villages such as Recuay, Carhuaz, Yungay and Caraz.

After lunch, we make an excursion to Lake Llanganuco, renowned for the azure blue of its water, which comes from the melted snow on Mt. Huascarán, Peru’s highest mountain: a truly magical place.

At the end of the day, we return to Huaraz where we overnight.

Day 4: Huaraz: Departure Breakfast

After breakfast, we transfer you to the bus station or airport for your onward journey.
