Chimu announce new Antarctica departures aboard the Ocean Endeavour which will include a unique photography programme.
Sydney. Wednesday 12th February, 2020.
Latin America and Polar Travel Specialists, Chimu Adventures, have announced brand new 2021/2022 Antarctica expedition dates aboard their own ship, the Ocean Endeavour, which is due to set sail under Chimu for the first time this November.
The departures will feature a unique photography programme taught by world-acclaimed photographers. Taking photographs of Antarctica’s unique landscape and wildlife is a top priority for many Antarctic travellers so the introduction of a dedicated photography programme is a welcome addition to Chimu’s Antarctica voyages.
Guests will learn how to capture wildlife and landscape photographs in a small group programme. It is composed of photography lectures from photography experts where they will learn about composition, camera settings, exposure/lighting, wildlife photography tips and landscape imaging; photography editing workshops which will show guests how to use editing software to enhance their images; and photography-focused Zodiac excursions in forward-facing Zodiacs (guided by a photography expert) which offer increased stability and unobstructed views of the ethereal scenery and creatures plus an extended range.
The international team of photographers leading this programme hail from a wealth of experience with their work having been featured in the likes of National Geographic, the Huff Post, The NY Times and BBC TV to name but a few. One thing all of these experts share is a huge passion for wildlife, conservation and of course Antarctica.
Chimu’s photography expert who has co-ordinated the photography programme elaborates: “With our forward-facing Zodiacs, fantastic guide to guest ratios and a team of experts in this field, the emphasis on photography across all of our voyages on the Ocean Endeavour is unprecedented. This programme has been designed from the ground up to accelerate learning for photographers of all skill levels and we’re delighted to be able to offer such an innovative curriculum that’s sure to see everyone capture those once-in-a-lifetime Antarctic moments.”
Guests will need to bring their own equipment such as camera and devices to transfer and process images, plus a good camera bag and spare batteries are recommended. No experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome. Spaces on the photography programme are limited so guests are strongly advised to pre-book. Contact Chimu here for details
