For me as a destination, nothing beats the life changing experience that is South America. I’m now on a mission to fill in the gaps and explore as many new destinations across this region while sharing my knowledge and experience with anyone and everyone.
My first trip to South America changed my life in so many ways. I was accompanied by two good friends, who had also never visited before.
As a novice hiker, visiting the Sacred Valley, trekking the Colca Canyon and the Inca trail was a dream come true. While climbing the mighty Huayna Picchu and absorbing the wonderous energy of Machu Picchu were nothing short of spectacular, I guess the biggest surprise for me was the diversity of South America as a whole.
Other than hiking, some of my favourite experiences included drinking hot chocolate while wandering the charming cobbled streets of Arequipa; the jaw-dropping magnificence of the gold-gilded cathedrals and monasteries in Lima; sipping on a delicious Malbec while overlooking the Plaza de Armas in energetic Cusco; visiting the incredible floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca and buying hand-made home wares. That’s just to name a few.
I have visited Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Lima, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Arequipa. Next on my radar is an Antarctic expedition.
My entire South American experience inspired me to study travel and tourism, earning a diploma in Tourism & Travel from Torrens University, which led me to where I am now.
Working for Chimu Adventures is a dream come true. Having access to such an immense wealth of knowledge of the region, combined with unparalleled on the ground experience means ‘if I haven’t been there someone else has’.
I’d love to share my experiences with you. Contact me so I can customise your personal trip of a lifetime.
