Originally built 1910 in Flensburg, Germany, the two-masted schooner Noorderlicht is a fully capable vessel offering an authentic sailing experience. What the vessel lacks for in the luxurious comforts of other expedition vessels, it makes up for in the extraordinary experience of sailing on a traditional and historic vessel. Sailing with a capacity of only 20 passengers, the Noorderlicht offers a quaint and intimate sailing experience. Although, small in size, this offers a unique benefit in flexibility of exploring the pristine waters of locations like the Arctic, whilst also being less disruptive to the local environment and wildlife of larger expedition vessels. This vessel truly offers the raw and surreal experience of sailing on an expedition schooner, reminiscing images of the explorers and voyagers of old.
