The Spirit of Glaciers offers the opportunity to live the magic of the Patagonian glaciers, one of the most impressive sights in the world. During three days you will navigate among stunning ice floes until you reach the most important glaciers of the Parque Nacional los Glaciares: Upsala, Spegazzini, Mayo, and Perito Moreno. Majestic blue and turquoise millenary ice, of up to 5 kilometers (3 miles) wide; beautiful reddish sunsets; and unique nights, special for looking at the constellation map, make this unforgettable landscape the destination of the most demanding travelers.

The Santa Cruz ship, equipped with huge panoramic windows in the cabins and communal lounges, allows the contemplation of the unique sights that Lago Argentino (lake) offers. The adventure of the The Spirit of the Glaciers includes landings in specific panoramic sites so as to observe, interpret and understand the most surprising characteristics of the place.

CRUISE ITINERARY

The tour will depart from private port La Soledad, Bahia Tranquila, in the area of Puerto Bandera. Here you will be welcomed to by your friendly crew who will provide you will all the information you will need for your upcoming journey.

You will set sail for Puesto de las Vacas (Alemana Bay is an extremely calm part of the Spegazzini Channel), where you spend your first night and enjoy your first dinner. You will pass Punta Avellaneda and Boca del Diablo, which at 800 metres wide form the narrowest part of the lake. After dinner, guests are invited to participate in various on board activities.

Embarkation in Bahia Tranquila

In the morning you will disembark in the area of Puesto de Vacas for a short walk. Later, navigation continues towards the Spegazzini Glacier, which shows you all its splendor, the sun shining bright over its tall ice walls, which can tower at heights of 145 metres. There you will have lunch. After lunch the ship sets sail towards the massive Upsala Glacier. The sight of the first icebergs indicates its proximity. This glacier is largest in all of South America, rising to a height of 74 metres and covering an area of 250 square kilometres. Afterwards, the vessel cruises along the Seno Mayo, where passengers have dinner and overnight in Toro Bay.

Spegazzini and Upsala Glacier

After a short navigation south, you will disembark for a short walk into the Andean Patagonian forest to a viewpoint from which the Mayo and Negro glaciers can be observed. You will be humbled at the sheer size of these incredible forces of nature.

As the spectacular final leg of your voyage, you will come to the indescribable Perito Moreno Glacier. One of, if not the most incredible glaciers in the world, the views you will witness are sheerly breathtaking. If you are lucky you may have the unique opportunity to witness the crackling and thunderous crash of water as a chunk of ice plunges into the frigid water, due to the constant advancement of the glacier.

After this, you will disembark in Puesto Vacas and sail back to Puerto Bahia Tranquila.
