ITINERARY INSPIRATION

On arrival, please make your way through to the Arrivals Hall where our representative will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel. He/she will be holding a sign with your name on it. Should you not be able to locate them, please refer to the front of your itinerary for emergency contact details of our representative office.

Arrival transfer in San Jose

San Jose, the capital and largest city of Costa Rica, sits in the Central Valley region overlooked by volcanoes to the north and the Talamanca Mountains to the south. It is the cultural capital of Costa Rica, offering many museums including the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum that displays hundreds of gold artefacts. In the historic neighbourhoods of San Jose, Spanish colonial mansions have been converted into galleries, boutique hotels and restaurants.

San Jose

6:00 -7:00 am: Early morning pick-up from your hotel in San Jose. Transportation service (approximately 2½ hours) to our Pacuare River put-in including a typical Costa Rican breakfast in route. Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge.

Arrival to the Pacuare Lodge between 12:00 – 1:00 pm.

Free afternoon to take an optional canopy tour (not included in package price), to hike to a pristine waterfall or simply relax in your private bungalow.

Dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit the upstairs lounge for a cocktail or refreshment before leaving to a restful night’s sleep.

Transfer San José to Pacuare

Day at leisure to enjoy Pacuare area, take optional tours, stay and take advantage of the facilities of the hotel.

Pacuare Free Day

Departure between 9:00-10:00 am. In the morning you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rating excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At our river take-out, you will have a chance to change before being transferred by private minibus back to your hotel. Arrival back in San Jose between 5:30-6:30 pm.

Transfer Pacuare to San José

You will be collected from your hotel at the appropriate time and transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
