Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city and main port. Resettled in 1547 as a commercial ship yard and port to the service of the Spanish Crown, it has served as the main point of Ecuador’s economy. It has been the location of great revolutions and insurgencies through its history, being recognized as the first Ecuadorian city that become definitely independent from Spain in 1820.

Accommodation for the evening will be at the Hotel del Parque (or something similar).


You will take a morning flight to the Galapagos. From here you will be transferred to the ship where you will be welcomed by your naturalist staff and crew.

Embarkation in Guayaquil

During your time in the Galapagos you will have the opportunity to visit a umber of islands. The few are just some of the islands you may visit:

Santa Cruz - Call at Puerto Ayora, the largest town and headquarters of both the Galápagos National Park and Charles Darwin Research Station. Head to the lush, green highlands to see giant tortoises roaming in the wild.

North Seymour - Encounter nesting frigatebirds, plus land and marine iguanas, and enjoy a beautiful coastal walk.

Isabela - Toast crossing the Equator at Volcán Ecuador, northernmost of Isabela’s six great shield volcanoes. Keep an eye open for whales and dolphins as you ply these rich waters, once the haunt of whalers and pirates.

Fernandina - One of the most active oceanic volcanoes in the world, it’s the youngest and most pristine island in Galápagos—and home to the strange flightless cormorant and the largest marine iguanas.

Galapagos Islands - Day 3 to 8

In the morning you will disembark your ship. Take this time to say farewell to your crew and fellow passengers, reflecting on the incredible experiences you have shared together. Return by air to Guayaquil.

Local guides also ensure you benefit from the intimate knowledge, passion and culture of the country you’re visiting. Whether it be our knowledgeable local guides, locally produced meals or the transport on tour, we do not use imported goods when local products are available. While visiting the many national parks, heritage sites, museums and landmarks our travellers are encouraged to explore remain culturally aware and sensitive. We further encourage you to buy appropriate souvenirs and discourage the buying of anything wrongfully made or taken from the environment i.e. shells and endangered species products.
