Overview

Explora Valle Sagrado is located on an old corn plantation established in one of the most remote farms of the valley. It is sheltered and surrounded by mighty mountains that were once the home to the great Inca Empire.

Explora Valle Sagrado offers guests over 20 exploration activities, either on foot or by bicycle. Our guides will take travelers to experience the area’s unique geography and Andean culture in all it richness.

Explora Sacred Valley features an experience of connection with the Andean culture. Pisac - Travel overland to the small village of Pisac, famous for its remarkable ruins and colourful market. A key enclave of the Sacred Valley this unique village gives a deep insight into Inca civilisation.

Urubamba River Ride - Bike along the banks of the Urubamba River. Whisk your way past a quiet area complete with cornfields, mountain vistas and sightings of old haciendas and manors.

ITINERARY INSPIRATION

On arrival into Cusco you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This fertile river valley was home to many important sites for the Incas, both strategic and religious. The first stop is the village of Pisac, with its famous market. The colonial village of Pisac sits at the base of the spectacular Pisac Ruins – a hilltop Inca citadel and fortress with impressive agricultural terracing. On market days Pisac comes alive with locals from nearby hillside villages in traditional dress selling local fruit and vegetables as well as handicrafts.

Arrival into Cusco

Hike the 6km trail (duration 3hrs) and enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains and the valley. During the dry season, visits to snow caped Mount Veronica and the surrounding mountains are the main attraction; it also includes sightings of the Royal Cinclodes. During the rainy season, the cushions of moss, and the lichens and fungi that cover the hillside, glisten with moisture.

Hike La Verónica

Ride your bike around the surroundings of region’s main river on this 3hr bike ride along the 33km track. The road runs down into the valley on the south side of the Rio Urubamba, amongst cornfields, old farms, and XX and XIX century manor houses.

At the appropriate time, you will be collected from your hotel and transferred out to your onward destination.
