Mendoza Extension

You will arrive in Mendoza, the city located at the heart of Argentina’s most famous wine producing region. There are several subregions where the wineries of Mendoza are located in and around the city, including Maipu, Lujan de Cuyo, Valle de Uco, San Rafael and San Martin. During your stay you will visit Maipu and tour the city centre. Mendoza radiates from Plaza Independencia, the city’s town square, and has wide leafy avenues lined with cosmopolitan cafes and four smaller plazas. Today is an arrival day and you are free to explore at your leisure.

Located just fifteen minutes southeast of Mendoza city is Maipu, one of the regions oldest wine growing areas. Here, you will discover the history and origins of Argentinean wine during a visit to three family-owned wineries. The vineyards selected are among some of Mendoza’s most prestigious as they have helped to pave the way for viticulture in the region and conserve their family traditions. You will end the tour with a delicious lunch at one of these vineyards.

Please note for the Deluxe version of this itinerary we will include a wine tour in the Uco Valley instead, as it is more accessible from your accommodation.

Today you will enjoy a guided tour of Mendoza city starting in Plaza Pedro de Castillo, where the city was first founded. Other highlights include a visit to Plaza Independencia, General San Martin Park and the Cerro de La Gloria Monument. At Cerro de La Gloria, you will enjoy panoramic views of the city.

You will be transferred to the airport to fly to your next destination.
