OVERVIEW

Not to be confused with Corcovado Mountain in Brazil, Corcovado National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most biodiverse national parks. On this adventure you will travel southeast from the coastal village of Manuel Antonio to the town of Sierpe, gateway to Corcovado National Park. There you will enjoy a full day of exploring the park and the nearby coastal attractions. During this four day Chimu Adventure tour you can expect to see everything from scarlet macaws to sea turtles and tapirs to tuna.

ITINERARY

Manuel Antonio to Sierpe & Corcovado National Park

You will travel from Manuel Antonio to the town of Sierpe, the gateway to Corcovado National Park, before continuing to your accommodation. As you make your journey, keep your eyes peeled for scarlet macaws, tapirs, jaguars and squirrel monkeys who call the national park their home. Take some time on arrival to settle into your surroundings.

Corcovado National Park

Today you will enjoy an excursion to Corcovado National Park. The reserve is considered one of the most biodiverse in the world and protects a variety of tropical ecosystems. Established in 1975, the reserve covers an area of 424 square kilometres of the Osa Peninsula. During your excursion you will visit San Pedrillo Ranger Station where you will enjoy hiking trails to see waterfalls, local wildlife and spot dolphins on a boat journey to and from the station.

Cano Island

Cano Island is a tropical getaway located fifty three kilometres off the Costa Rican coastline. Known for having the country’s highest concentration of coral-building organisms in the pacific, it is the ideal destination for diving and snorkelling. You will spend the day swimming and observing the local sea turtles, sting rays, moray eels and fish such as barracudas, tuna, snapper and puffer fish.

Playa Rincon to Drake Bay & fly to San Jose

Departing your accommodation, you will take a boat ride through the mangroves to Drake Bay. There you will board a flight back to San Jose and be transferred to your accommodation for the night.

Depart San Jose

You will be transported back to San Jose to the airport to fly to your next destination.
