Here you can immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Patagonia. Enjoy a day hike to the famous Mount Fitzroy, where jagged peaks and crystalline lakes paint an awe-inspiring landscape. Delve into the pristine and off the beaten track wilderness of Los Huemules Reserve, where ancient forests and cascading waterfalls await discovery. Shuttle transfers are included to/from El Calafate and we recommend combining this extension with our Signature Patagonia trip.

ITINERARY

El Calafate to El Chalten

You will be collected from the airport or your centrally located hotel and transferred by shuttle to El Chalten. Take in the stunning vistas on route and on arrival you will be dropped at your hotel. El Chalten is a small mountain village, known as Argentina’s trekking capital and lies within the World Heritage listed Los Glaciares National Park.

El Chalten – Fitzroy Trek

Today you will enjoy the most famous trek in El Chalten – the Fitzroy trek. Enjoy stunning vistas over a range of glaciers and delve into lunsh lenga forest. As you continue upwards you will begin to see mountain peaks in their full splendour before reaching the pinnacle of the trek, the summit of Los Tres Lagoon. Enjoy a break for lunch and take in the stunning panoramas before descending and returning to El Chalten.

Los Huemules Trek

Enjoy the untouched beauty of Los Huemules, a 5500-hectare private reserve. You can choose from an extensive network of walking and hiking trails and enjoy moments of serenity, escaping the crowds.

El Chalten to El Calafate

Transfer back to El Calafate by shuttle. You will be dropped at your centrally located hotel or at the airport.
