Adam Spencer

Adam Spencer is one of the most recognisable figures in the Australian media, regularly appearing and hosting some of our most loved television and radio programs over the past two decades.

Perhaps best known for his successful stints hosting breakfast radio at ABC Sydney 702 and Triple J, Adam is highly regarded for his infectious and comedic ability to communicate complex mathematical and scientific topics to a mainstream audience.

Adam got his start in the Australian media after winning a 1996 Triple J comedy competition (Raw Comedy) to unearth new comedy talent while undertaking a PhD in Pure Maths. In the years that followed, alongside Wil Anderson, Adam hosted Triple J breakfast for six years before moving on to ABC Sydney 702, where he set rating records.

Since leaving the early starts of breakfast radio behind him, Adam has been a regular face across our television screens, hosting everything from the national science show Quantum to poker championships, sports programs such as The Back Page, and ABC news and current affairs programs. Adam is also a Sleek Geeks Science Team member with Dr Karl Kruszelnicki.

Adam is the author of six best-selling books on popular mathematics, an ambassador of the Fred Hollows Foundation, and a co-founder of Dry July.

In 2022, Adam Spencer will be joining us as a special guest on an exclusive Antarctica charter – Complete Antarctica. Onboard, Adam Spencer will excite lucky travellers with his endless curiosity and spearhead crowd enthusiasm to help scientists and drive our onboard citizen science efforts.

Complete Antarctica will sail in November 2022. This 14-day cruise aboard the Ocean Endeavour will depart Ushuaia, Argentina, and take in the highlights of Antarctic Sound, the Lemaire Channel, Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. This exclusive charter will provide a deeper exploration than your average Antarctic Peninsula cruise. With the right conditions, we will even venture over to the Weddell Sea, where tabular icebergs lay, and the history of Antarctic Exploration sighs in echoes through the rarely visited landscapes.
