Your journey begins in Iquitos, a vibrant gateway city surrounded by
jungle and water. Our team welcomes you at the airport and
accompanies you in comfort aboard our private vehicle. As you
journey toward Nauta, a nourishing lunchbox eases you into the
rhythms of the rainforest.
In Nauta, one of the oldest towns in Loreto, you’ll be greeted at our
private embarkation port. Here begins your intimate encounter with
the Amazon. Step aboard your Delfin vessel and settle into your suite—an oasis of calm crafted with local elegance, from handwoven
details to natural cotton comforts and your own private terrace.
As the vessel glides into the waters of the Marañón River, join your
naturalist guide in the observation lounge for an overview of the
journey ahead—its landscapes, wildlife, history, and wonder.
At twilight, set out on your first skiff excursion. As the light softens
over the river, watch for herons, monkeys, and sloths among the
branches. After sunset, the forest awakens into another world.
Search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal creatures under a
starlit canopy. This is the Amazon, after dark—mysterious, alive,
unforgettable.

Wake with the rising sun to the vibrant sounds of the rainforest.
Our day begins in Las Palmas, a haven for birdwatchers. As dawn
breaks, the treetops come alive with color and song—macaws,
toucans, and countless endemic species in a spectacular aerial
ballet unique to the Amazon.
Later, journey into the Amazon Natural Park. Walk along forest
trails guided by our naturalists as you uncover the secrets of
medicinal plants used for generations by local communities. At the
end of the trail, you’ll take part in a powerful Shamana Ceremony
led by Carola, a revered healer whose deep connection to the
jungle spirit offers a rare glimpse into the ancestral heart of the
Amazon.
In the afternoon, navigate the serene waters of the Yanayacu
River. Glide on kayaks or paddleboards through hidden lagoons
and swim near playful pink river dolphins.
During this time of year, the low water season reveals the hidden
Amazonian beaches—pristine stretches of sand where we’ll pause
to enjoy a playful and rejuvenating mud treatment, straight from
the riverbed itself.
As twilight fades, the adventure continues with a Night Safari
along the Pucate River—where the forest reveals its most
mysterious side under the soft glow of the moon.

In the morning, we’ll set off by skiff to explore the serene waters of
the Marañón River. Our journey will take us to Shiriyacu, a prime
location for birdwatching. With a bit of luck, you may spot herons,
kingfishers, hawks, and many other vibrant species that fill the
Amazon skies with color and song.
In the afternoon, we return to land for a guided walk through Fundo
Casual. Along a forest trail surrounded by lush vegetation, you’ll
uncover the intricate beauty of the rainforest—from tiny frogs and
medicinal plants to towering ancient trees. With insights from our
expert naturalists, every step reveals a new wonder of the jungle.

Along the Yarapa River, we travel down river to this wide creek that leads to an attractive hidden lagoon. As we absorb the beauty of the landscape, we will have the chance to reflect on the wildlife. Hawks, terns, herons and monkeys which are part of our everyday excursions are readily close by; in this area we will notice many more inhabitants of the Amazon, the riverenos. People being an important part of this complex bionetwork only reinforce the fact that we are part of their lives and how our presence here and now could make a difference to the future of this magical land of the Incas. Look out for specific types of Monkeys like the pygmy marmoset, squirrel monkey, and our first Monk Saki.
Better known as the “Unión de los Ríos” we will toast and witness the distinguished colours of the 3 rivers. It is known that the Ucayali River, which in turn confluences with the Maranon River upstream of Iquitos, Peru, to form what countries other than Brazil consider to be the main stem of the Amazon River. Great photo opportunity as you witness your first Amazon Rainforest Sunset.

With warm hearts, our staff will bid you farewell as your journey comes to an end. At Nauta’s port, our team will escort you by private vehicle back to Iquitos, a scenic 95-kilometer drive.
Before your flight, enjoy an interactive activity about melipona stingless bees and their crucial role in the Amazon ecosystem. We’ll also visit the Amazon Research Center for Ornamental Fishes, where you can admire the Amazon’s vibrant aquatic life—from giant arapaima to colorful freshwater stingrays. This final stop offers a beautiful farewell to the region’s rich biodiversity.
Our team will assist with your luggage and check-in at Iquitos airport. At security, your guide and the Delfin crew will warmly say goodbye, hoping your Amazon journey leaves you with unforgettable memories.
Please note: The Peruvian Amazon is a very remote region. Cruise and lodge operators design transfer schedules to align with specific incoming and departing flights to maximise their operations. Frequent flight schedule changes can also complicate matters. We strongly advise consulting with your booking agent prior to confirming your flights to avoid any potential long delays and/or missed connections.
This itinerary is easily combined with other corners of Peru or perhaps the greater South America. Allowing you to tailor incredible wildlife, cultural and gastronomical experiences onto the one exceptional journey.
Encounter the unique wildlife of the region including infant manatees, squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws, toucans, river otters, capybaras and perhaps even sightings of the famous pink river dolphins.
