Be part of the inaugural Antarctic voyage of the new ship, Magellan Discoverer, as part of this Air/Cruise itinerary sailing down to the continent of Antarctica and flying back. On the Magellan Discoverer, indulge in modern amenities like a panoramic viewing lounge and a top deck walking track with spectacular views of the Antarctic scenery and wildlife. Witness stunning sights like icebergs at sunset, snowy mountains rising from the frozen ocean, spot amazing wildlife such as leopard seals, skuas and feeding whale pods. Enjoy zodiac rides through icy bays and beach landings where you should see large colonies of penguins close-up, all while traveling in luxury and comfort. Fully immerse yourself in this magical environment without missing a single moment.
Sail along the Strait of Magellan towards Cape Froward, the southernmost tip of the American landmass, and continue south.
Escorted by Peale's dolphins, the ship will navigate along the Glacier Alley, offering an opportunity for a Zodiac excursion at the Garibaldi Glacier.
After spending some free time in Ushuaia, the ship sets sail along the Beagle channel towards Antarctica.
Sail the Drake Passage and reach the South Shetland Islands in Antarctica.
Cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sailing along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs. Each day, disembark by Zodiac and explore the landscape. The Expedition Team sets the voyage route to take advantage of the ever-changing opportunities provided by Nature, crafting a unique and extraordinary experience on each landing.
Return to King George Island and board the flight back to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for the
night. (Note: Meals in Punta Arenas are at your leisure and not included in the program).
After breakfast, a transfer takes you to the Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight.
Hop aboard the modern and purpose built Magellan Discoverer. The ship is designed to enhance the Antarctic air-cruise experience and will beginin crusing in late 2026. Enjoy boutique and modern accommodation. All cabins have a king bed or two twin beds with a wardrobe, sitting area, invividual heating control and a private bathroom with a shower.
Enjoy the views from the panoramic observation lounge and listen to lectures and recieve regular updates from the crew in the presentation room. Onboard you will find a bar, library, meeting room and well appointed dining room as well as a sauna with a view, a gym and a 360° walking track on the top deck. The vessel also has a medical clinic. The ship is small and intimate and designed for expedition cruising in Antarctica.
