With a 1-A super Ice class rated hull designed through a German-Japanese collaboration, optimised entirely for Antarctic voyages, the heavy steel of the MS Seaventure cuts through the Drake Passage with ease. State-of-the-art marine retractable stabilisers reduce movement significantly inside the ship, rendering the voyage across the Drake not only more efficient, but smoother than most other expedition ships.
Having made it to Antarctica in speed and comfort, you’ll discover on the MS Seaventure, that time is your luxury. With a small group of only 138 travellers and a 7:1 traveller to expedition staff ratio, co-ordinating excursions is the priority and unless weather conditions prevent it, guests will spend up to six hours a day off the ship and immersed in Antarctica is normal.
A social experience, the intimate spaces, designed from the outset specifically for Antarctica travel, ensures everyone gets to know each other and learn together with lounge and lecture spaces carefully curated to fit everyone with comfort.
A full wrap around deck, close to the water, is a must have in Antarctica and a photographer's dream. The MS Seaventure's deck is on the lower decks, offering brilliant viewing of wildlife and Antarctica as it happens in 360 degrees. That way, you won't be stuck in only one space and when the captain announces “orcas” you wont have to climb a myriad of stairs to access the outer areas. Access to the bow, when the conditions allow, is a regular occurrence on MS Seaventure journeys.
You’ll enjoy a mix of fine dining by night with casual gourmet-by-day meals, matching the culinary experience to the joy of Antarctic immersion. Interspersing the many hours of activity off the ship with full belly, luxurious buffets and snacks by day, coupled with slow paced al-a-carte feasts by night where you can also enjoy your included beverages and talk through the excitement of your Antarctica experience, sharing stories and photos with your newfound friends.
This is not an 'us and them' cruise, your expedition crew will dine with the guests on board during meal times, sharing their personal insights into Antarctica and getting to know the people they are travelling with. Breaking down walls and building a more family feel as you travel to the most enigmatic place on earth - together.
The rooms are designed to cater for all tastes and include many balcony rooms on the higher levels, away from ocean spray that can be encountered on the Drake Passage, offering higher comfort and security for deluxe travellers.
Citizen science is world class on the MS Seaventure with six separate projects throughout the journey. Each guest on board can be involved and gain a deep understanding of the location whilst sending data back to significant scientific organisations to help with their critical research on Antarctica.
Enhance your immersive experience with an optional activity in Antarctica whilst travelling on the MS Seaventure.
Kayaking & Camping are at an extra cost but, due to their popularity, are limited in space and can book out quickly.
